Hello folks, new here. Thought I'd take a jump and see if I can learn something new or at least keep up in my field other than reading mags and surfing. Haven't been in a web developer or designer community ever. Been in the web development/design for 6 years. Currently webmaster of two web sites, one which is my day job (a newspaper web site), the other my night job (an art gallery). People hit on me for small web site jobs.

Hi there fellow webber ;)
hehehe XD your icon makes me laugh
Well...that is the purpose for it! ;) I'm glad my hardwork to make the icon doesn't go to waste :P
How's web design business over there where you are? I'm in Australia and gee I don't think I can live if it only cost $20 for a page, roughly I charge around AU$100 ie US$60. I suppose there are more competition over there?
I had a look on your website and ..
Guess what I have Gold maneki neko, great info too, I've always wondered what the difference colors meant for.
Nice drawings too ;)
Oh the prices -- I had to adjust for my area -- Yuba City, California. The area I'm living in currently has a high rate of low income -- alot of people can't afford to pay more than $40-$60. I used to live in NY and could easily charge $75-$100 USD.
And I do have to compete with other hacks around here who half know what they're doing with their coding. They were outbidding me on jobs because they charge so low, but they don't write custom codes. Of course people would come to me to fix the messes. Of course, I can't claim their web sites as my works because some other hack started it and they don't want me to completely redo their web sites. $20 a hour was the lowest I would go for a simple 5 page html web site. I'm still working on my services area and setting up templates for people to look at, make my services look better and raise my prices.
Glad you know what your gold Maneki Neko is. ;)
Recently revamped my services area. You reminded me that I had left some broken links when I was revamping my galleries.
