Anyone in here ever made a CD-ROM catalogue? One of my client wanting to distribute CD-ROM catalogue. I don't think creating an offline version of the (shopping-cart) website will be suitable. I am thinking of creating it in excel. Any excel expert in here? How can you pull images to be displayed (say I have all images in a folder and if i type in imagename.jpg it can retrieve images mentioned). I don't even know if this can be done in excel. Otherwise, any other suggestion?

Well....Macromedia Director would be the CD-ROM creation software of choice (as that's specifically what it's for)...
But basically you can make anything into a "CD-ROM", technically. The only prob. with doiing it in Excel, other than appearance, is that the end user would need to have excel to open/view the contents of the CD....
If this isn't a prob., then I suppose you could just create an autorun.inf file and have it open the excel document (or whatever) when the CD loads....

A better option than Excel would be a PDF file, though, if you don't have access to Director (or even Flash, maybe)......
IMHO, anyway....
