Recommended Tools of the Trade
This is a collection of software that has proved useful to me either directly or indirectly with web development. Wherever possible I'll provide open source alternatives to commercial products. If you know of a program that's better than the one on the list, feel free to let me (valera) know about it so that I may put it up here.
EditorsGraphicsFile TransferCommunications
Adobe Dreamweaver
This is a WYSIWYG HTML editor with a ton of features that let you do just about anything: CSS, cross-browser validation, inline image editing, MS Office cut and paste, advanced code editing, and much more.
Adobe Photoshop
Photoshop is, IMHO, the best and the most advanced image editing program out there.
FileZilla
FileZilla is a fast FTP and SFTP client for Windows with a lot of features. FileZilla Server is a reliable FTP server.
PuTTY
PuTTY is a free implementation of Telnet and SSH for Win32 and Unix platforms, along with an xterm terminal emulator

A note about Software Piracy/Warez
Software Piracy is illegal, we all know this. Yet for various reasons (e.g. "i don't care, i just want free soft" or "information should be free! it's not like i'm stealing anything anyway, just making a copy!") many of us choose to practice it. That said - please don't post any cracks, serial numbers, or links to such in the community.
